Advanced white water kayak courses

Course description – A course designed for the experienced white-water kayaker looking to run more technical, longer and bigger rapids up to and beyond grade 4. NEW for 2026 we are now running down river freestyle courses with Alex Littlechild!

The course aims to help you replace fear with confidence in your paddling ability and decision making.  By giving you the technical and tactical knowledge, and understanding needed for more challenging rivers. We will help you leave feeling like a more capable and independent paddler in the advanced environment.

Let’s not forget help with  the all important psychological tactics to help with your head game when you’re pushing yourself and the demons come out. All this while not forgetting to make sure we’re having fun playing on the river and exploring some of Scotland’s classic advanced white-water sections.

We know that advanced water can mean anything from grade 3 with one grade 4  all the way to grade 4 with grade 5. From pool drop to continuous white water, from steep creeks and drops to big water. We offer a variety of advanced courses and work alongside some of the countries best coaches to make sure we can provide you with the right level of challenge and support. You may find courses using the same river but offering a different experience for example our River Moriston coaching courses can be tailored towards peoples first time on the river up to more experienced paddlers looking to explore new lines and refine their style. Course description – A course designed for people who want to feel more independent and stylish in the grade 3 environment. We aim to help you start using features and working with the water. Helping you feel more stylish and confident catching eddies and moving around the river. All this while having fun working the river encouraging river play and exploring some of Scotland’s classic white-water rivers.

Ideal for boaters who have some experience in the grade 2/3 and are looking to feel more confident in there boating.

Course details – This course is designed for people looking to start building confidence in the grade 2 river environment and start stepping into the grade 3. We aim to get you to start applying tried and tested fundamental paddle skills into the dynamic river environment. You will gain technical skills, understanding and look at basic river hydrology. This will enable you to have as much fun as possible out and the water and start to really work with the river!

One of the best things about Scotland as a white water paddler is you have year-round water available thanks to the Dam releases.
We can show you around all the rivers that summer in Scotland has to offer with a variety of river combinations available to choose from.

These coaching courses are designed to help you get some input to help you develop your personal skills, hone your tactics, build confidence, and most of all – have some fun in the sun with our expert coach
